Lobeč Brewing Museum

In May 2007, architects Jana and Pavel Prouza took notice of the former brewery in Lobeč. The architects became the owners of the brewery and began the challenging process of saving it. Construction work began in 2009 and has been ongoing ever since. Meanwhile, the government has designated the site a cultural monument and made public funds available for its restoration. The brewery has been restored as a historic landmark, is promoted as a cultural asset, and is one of the most valuable examples of historic Czech breweries.

The building’s restoration in 2015 was followed by the revival of the Lobeč beer brand, which boasts a long and distinguished tradition. The renovated brewery, equipped with a 10-hectolitre brewhouse and operated with partners, now produces around 1,000 hectolitres of craft beer annually, using original recipes and local ingredients.

Following the resumption of production, the site was opened to the public as a brewery taproom and a tour highlighting the history and present-day practices of beer brewing in Lobeč.
