Hop Kiln in Dubá

Hop Kiln in Dubá

This unique industrial heritage site recalls a time when hops were widely cultivated in the region. It is the only surviving structure of its kind in the Czech Republic.

The kiln has two characteristic cylindrical towers, which were used for drying hops. The process used heat supplied from furnaces in the base of the towers.

The first written mention of the building dates from 1877. Over the years, it changed hands several times and was gradually enlarged. It is currently being restored.
