The town of Dubá lies 16 km south of Česká Lípa and 9 km south-west of Lake Mácha. First mentioned in the written records in 1253, the town has a rich history closely linked to the Ronov family and the cultivation of hops. Nowadays, Dubá is one of the main gateways to the Kokořínsko region and is home to a number of notable landmarks, including the Church of the Discovery of the Holy Cross and the historic hop kiln, a unique example of the region's industrial heritage. Surrounded by a dense network of hiking and cycling trails, Dubá is an ideal starting point for leisurely outings as well as longer hikes.
