Lobeč is a village in the Mělník District. It is located approximately four kilometres north-east of Mšeno.
The first written mention of the village dates back to 1323. In the 14th century, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (later rebuilt in the Baroque style) was founded in the upper part of the village; a Baroque château was added there in 1654 (rebuilt in 1724 and 1883). The jewel of the village, however, is its brewery, which was first mentioned in writing as early as 1586. It underwent significant modernization during the second half of the 19th century. After its nationalization in 1948, the building fell into serious disrepair, but it has been undergoing extensive renovation since 2007—and you definitely shouldn’t miss a visit. The famous writer Eduard Štorch also lived in the village, and a museum has been established here in his honour.
