Čap
Čapská palice is a striking natural rock formation on the summit of Čap (387 m above sea level) near Dubá. This sandstone rock pillar, more than three metres high and rich in iron compounds, was shaped by the weathering of rocks of varying hardness. From the foot of Čapská palice, there are magnificent views across Kokořínsko, the Central Bohemian Uplands and Mount Říp.
Close to Čapská palice are the remains of a 14th-century rock castle founded by Jindřich Berka of Dubá. The castle was probably built largely of wood and was abandoned in the 15th century. Surviving features include a cellar cut into the rock and a circular cistern measuring three metres in diameter.
